Use your professional skills to make a real impact. Support our small team with projects that help more young people access free mental health support.

Are you a professional looking to give specialist pro-bono support to a local charity?Support Youth Talk as a Specialist Skills Volunteer.

Specialist Skills Volunteers offer professional expertise to support Youth Talk’s work behind the scenes. This role is ideal for people who want to use their skills to make a difference but need flexibility.

We are particularly interested in skills such as:

  • Graphic design
  • Photography and videography
  • Social media and supporter engagement
  • Will writing or legal support
  • AI automation
  • Google Analytics and reporting

Time commitment

You may support short term projects or ongoing pieces of work, depending on your availability and our current needs. Capacity for new projects varies, but we welcome expressions of interest throughout the year.

Around 4 to 5 hours a week or 1 to 2 days a month, flexible depending on the project

Location

Ideally St Albans District, but some roles can be done remotely

What we ask from volunteers

  • To be reliable and arrive on time for agreed shifts
  • To let us know as early as possible if you can no longer attend
  • To follow guidance on health and safety, safeguarding and confidentiality
  • To represent Youth Talk in a positive and respectful way
  • To raise any concerns if something does not feel safe or right

This is a flexible, practical role where you can get involved as much or as little as suits you, while being part of a team making a real difference.

About Youth Talk

Youth Talk is a local charity providing free, confidential counselling to young people aged 13 to 25 in St Albans and surrounding areas. We offer a safe space where young people can talk openly about whatever is worrying them and get the support they need to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
