We are looking for helpers to support shoppers on our Berkhamsted Door to Store Service which runs every fortnight on a Wednesday to Waitrose.Detailed description
Community Transport, part of Community Action Dacorum is looking for volunteers to help with their Door to Store project. As a volunteer you will support the volunteer driver to provide support for shopping trips for the elderly. Escorts can either meet shoppers at the local supermarket, or join them on the minibus collection. You may need to support shoppers around the supermarket if they need assistance - for example with their shopping, with their bags, supporting a wheelchair user or supporting a partially sighted shopper.
Someone with good interpersonal skills along with good communication skills. Also a friendly caring nature.
Volunteering as a Door to Store helper is very rewarding, and gives elderly people who may not be able to get out and about an enjoyable day out.
