Summary

Drivers with their own cars and free time to drive, are needed to drive passengers to destinations such as hospitals and doctors.

Detailed description

Community Transport, part of Community Action Dacorum need people over the age of 21 to volunteer as Community Car Drivers. You will need to have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 2 years, and have your own car. You will transport local residents who need transport to their appointments etc.

Journeys may be short, or longer outside the local area (eg London). Some light lifting may be involved (i.e lifting a wheelchair)

Volunteers are expected to support the client in transporting them to their appointment/destination and remain with the client if the appointment is for 1 hour or less. More than an hour, the volunteer will do a 2 way return journey.

No extra car insurance is needed and your standard social and domestic use policy is all that's required. Proof of correct insurance and a valid MOT is required.
