As a volunteer with Sue Ryder you’ll provide companionship and enable people to do things. You’ll be helping Sue Ryder provide the best possible care and support to people with neurological conditions.
We take a completely person-centred approach to all our services and support which means each volunteering relationship will be different, however the role commonly includes:
Visiting a person with whom you have been matched, providing regular one-to-one companionship and a supportive relationship
Helping us take a holistic approach to care, you’ll be part of a team providing recreational activities to contribute to our residents’ sense of choice, wellbeing and fulfilment
What you won’t be expected to do:
Assisting with personal care, for example: washing, dressing, feeding or toileting
Administering medication of any kind or providing medical advice
We want to provide a volunteering environment that is inclusive, stimulating, friendly and supportive. As part of our commitment to you we will:
