Summary

Our buildings and grounds make it possible for us to provide 24 hour care to people when they need it most. In this role you’ll work alongside maintenance.

Detailed description

Activities will include:

  • Painting and decorating
  • Moving furniture or equipment
  • Assisting with in house testing and inspections of equipment
  • Clearing external paths and emptying external bins
  • Minor repairs and fault finding

 

How often we’d like your support

Ideally we hope you’ll choose to volunteer 3 - 6 hours a week, however all our roles are flexible and times should be agreed with your local centre.

 The skills and experience you’ll need for this role

You will need to:

  • Have a basic knowledge of a trade skill such as painting & decorating, plumbing or joinery
  • Have an understanding of the importance of Health & Safety is the workplace.
  • Be reliable and professional
  • Have a warm, friendly, adaptable approach
  • Be enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  •  Be open-minded and tolerant of different lifestyles and values
  • Be able to work within personal and organisational boundaries
