About Stevenage District Scouts
Volunteering with Stevenage District Scouts is a chance to make a real difference in young people’s lives while having fun, learning new skills, and becoming part of a supportive community. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to develop confidence, resilience, and independence—and our volunteers are at the heart of making that happen. You don’t need to have been a Scout yourself, or have any special experience. Whether you can spare a couple of hours a month or a regular weekly slot, there’s a role for you. From supporting activities with young people, to helping behind the scenes with admin, fundraising, or event planning, every contribution helps. Full training and guidance are provided, and you’ll be surrounded by a friendly team to support you along the way.
Volunteering with us isn’t just about giving—it’s about what you gain too. You’ll develop transferable skills, boost your CV, build lasting friendships, and enjoy the satisfaction of knowing you’re shaping brighter futures. Plus, it’s flexible around your lifestyle and commitments.
By joining Stevenage District Scouts, you’ll be helping young people locally to discover adventure, try new experiences, and grow into active, positive members of their community, all whilst equipping them with skills for life.
We are looking for volunteers to help in all sections, from our Squirrels (4 years old) all the way to our Explorers (18 years old).
