Infant Feeding Support Volunteers needed for our Infant Feeding Social Group at the The Ark Family Centre.

Detailed description

Infant Feeding Social Group

A great opportunity to support new parents on their feeding journey with any responsive feeding questions they may have alongside a UNICEF accredited Family Centre staff member.


The Ark Family Centre

Weekly - Tuesdays

2.00am - 4.00pm


To support the vision of the Family Support Service in their work with parents, carers, families and Children (under 11 years)

  • To provide polite and friendly, evidenced based information rather than advice
  • To be friendly and welcoming  Must work within boundaries & guidelines given
  • Work alongside trained professional staff
  • Encourage, support empower and empathise with mothers.
  • Enable mothers to make informed choices through sharing up to date information with them.
  • Support mothers to have a positive breastfeeding experience 

Skills, Experience and Qualities needed:

  • Aged 18 or over.
  •  Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • You need to have a friendly approach.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • The ability to work well in a team and unsupervised.

 

Support Offered:

  • Training provided prior to starting role.
  • Full induction into the service
  • Ongoing support and supervision throughout role.
