Summary

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with excellent communication skills to work alongside our team to help deliver admin and reception support.

Detailed description

Main tasks to include:

·      Managing the intercom and greeting visitors at the door

·      Answering general queries and signposting

·      Taking messages as necessary

·      Supporting with basic admin tasks (e.g. recording walk-ins; requesting reasonable adjustments; record keeping; filing)

·      Providing general reception duties in support of frontline staff

·      Following procedures of Mind in Mid Herts for all tasks


Minimum commitment of approximately 3 hours a week, up to a maximum of 12 hours. The role may be split to accommodate multiple candidates’ availability.


We are looking for volunteers who have the following attributes:

·      Confidence in speaking to and building rapport with a wide range of people

·      Previous experience in an administrative and/or reception role

·      Ability to maintain confidentiality

·      Experience working with people with mental ill-health (desirable not essential)

·      Active listening skills

·      Reliability and punctuality

·      A non-judgmental outlook
