Summary

We are looking for a friendly, confident volunteer to attend our monthly LGBTIQ+ group to support people who use our service to feel heard and included.

Detailed description

Mind in Mid Herts is looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and reliable volunteer to support our welcoming Stevenage LGBTIQ+ group. The group provides an opportunity for people from the LGBTIQ+ community experiencing mental health difficulties to meet and share experiences in a safe space. We would particularly welcome applicants from the LGBTIQ+ community who are able to bring empathy and a positive outlook to the group.


The group meets on the last Tuesday of every month at our Stevenage Wellbeing Centre, 4:30 - 6pm.


We are particularly looking for volunteers who have the following attributes:

Enthusiasm; motivation; a desire to learn; experience working with people with mental ill health (desirable not essential); active listening skills; reliability and punctuality; a non-judgmental outlook.


This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference and give back to the local community.
