Summary

We are looking for an administrative volunteer to support our busy Trustee team and CEO with various admin tasks to ensure the smooth running of the charity.

Detailed description

Mind in Mid Herts is a well-established local charity supporting the recovery of those experiencing mental health issues. We do this across 4 centres in Stevenage, St Albans, Hatfield, and Hertford and through our dedicated workforce (employees 45 volunteers 70). We offer a range of services that educate and promote a proactive approach to mental health. At any one time we will be supporting circa 1000 people with the expectation that the need for our services will increase in this very challenging social and economic environment.

We are funded from a range of sources (total circa £1.2 million) which has grown progressively over recent years and have received a significant donation towards the purchase of a freehold site. We are an active member of the national Mind Federation and have strong productive relations with our partner organisations.

The role(s)

Prepare Trustee meeting paperwork in advance of meetings (agenda, invites etc)

Attend Trustee meetings online (5 times a year) to take minutes.

Attend monthly Manager meetings (in person) at Stevenage to take minutes, capture actions etc. Half a day per month, 1 full day every quarter.

Support CEO between Manager meetings with general administration tasks as required (can be remote)

Total commitment of approximately 8 to 15 hours a month although role may be split to accommodate multiple candidates’ availability.

We are looking for volunteers who have the following attributes:

Enthusiasm; previous experience in an administrative role; ability to maintain confidentiality (PA or HR background ideal); experience working with people with mental ill-health (desirable not essential); active listening skills; reliability and punctuality; a non-judgmental outlook.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference and give back to the local community.
