Healthwatch Hertfordshire is recruiting committed trustees to help us to fulfil our role as the local independent consumer champion for health and social care.Detailed description
Our purpose is to help make care better for people by improving how health & social care services are run now and in the future. We have an ambitious vision to ensure that these services work for everyone. As a Board Member, you will be helping to ensure that the views and experiences of the public are used to influence improvements to health and social care services in Hertfordshire.
To complement the expertise of the current board members we are looking for people who offer an understanding of governance to ensure the Board of Trustees fulfils its responsibilities.
We are looking to recruit people with experience of health and social care services and their users. This could include children and young people’s services and social care. On this occasion we are also keen to recruit someone with knowledge of financial management.
The organisation places particular importance to the promotion of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our Board should represent the diversity of Hertfordshire’s communities, so we encourage applications from underrepresented groups.

Our sole purpose is to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of people who use health and social care services and to speak out on their behalf. One way we do this is through high quality research and engagement.
As a charity with statutory powers, we work to ensure local people’s voices get heard, act as a ‘critical friend’ to organisations that provide health and social care, and hold the system to account.
We work to get services right for the future, and to ensure that people’s worries and concerns about current services are addressed.
