Activities Companion

Harpenden Mencap hosts a weekly social club for local adults with learning disabilities to build confidence, learn new skills and make friends. It offers a variety of fun and interesting activities, such as arts and crafts, games, music and exercise.

Key responsibilities:

• Join in and encourage participation in group activities
• Support members to engage at their own pace and celebrate their achievements
• Be a friendly face welcoming club members at the start of each session
• Ensure club members leave the venue safely at the end of the session
• Help activity leaders set up and tidy away materials and equipment
• Help prepare refreshments for members and other volunteers

Desirable qualities

• Friendly, caring, approachable manner
• Trustworthy and reliable
• Comfortable in chatting with a variety of people

Refreshments provided, free parking available on-site, training available where needed.
