Volunteering Discovery Session - My Sighted Guide
Wednesday 12th July 18:00-19:30
Are you looking for an exciting new volunteer role where you get to meet like-minded people?
Becoming a My Sighted Guide volunteer is a great way to get out and about in your community while helping the mobility and independence of someone with sight loss.
Join our My Sighted Guide information session to learn about what it means to become a sighted guide, as well as to:
- Learn facts about sight loss and debunk some common myths
- Gain an appreciation of some different eye conditions and how they affect people's lives
- Learn about the potential barriers and the emotional consequences associated with sight loss.
- Explore how to guide someone correctly so that they still feel in control of what is happening to them whilst out and about
Most importantly – you'll find out how you can volunteer to become a sighted guide at Guide Dogs!
We look forward to seeing you (virtually) there!
