About Disability Watford

Disability Watford is a charity, run by people with a disability, to help others with a disability, their family, friends, carers, personal assistants and anyone who has an interest in the problems surrounding disability matters.

We play a vital role in the community to help break down barriers for people with a disability to live an inclusive life. We provide information, advice and also campaign on disability accessibility.

In the current climate, and changes to disability benefits, our advocacy activities are needed more than ever and this is also reflected in the ongoing requests we receive for our inputs to multiple local organisations and initiatives.

Unfortunately our ability to keep the charity running is now at risk. We are run entirely by volunteers are in urgent need of Trustees and other roles to meet our charity governance obligations. Without these critical roles being filled, Disability Watford will have to wind down as a charity.

If our advertised roles don't appeal but you care about disability rights and not sure how you can be involved, please do get in touch! We also have a general need for volunteers to help out at our charity awareness and fundraising events, and we will flex the volunteer role around whatever time and skills you are able to offer.
