Flexible volunteering
If you want to help out in your community or advance a cause but you find it challenging to commit to a regular volunteering schedule, flexible volunteering offers an ideal solution.
Whether you have limited time availability or prefer short-term commitments, flexible volunteering allows you to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others without the constraints of a long-term rigid schedule. On GoVolHerts you can find a range of flexible volunteering opportunities to suit a variety of interests and availabilities.

Different types of flexible volunteering
One-off volunteering
One-off volunteering is an action that benefits an organisation once, for example, volunteering at a festival or event. This could involve marshalling, helping with catering and refreshments or taking photographs on the day.
Here are some more examples:
- Painting a room at a community centre
- Hosting an information stand at an event
- Helping with accounts
- Driving to collect items
Short-term volunteering
Short-term volunteering requires a commitment for a limited duration, usually ranging from a few days to a few months. Unlike long-term or ongoing volunteering roles, short-term roles are designed to fulfil specific needs or projects within an organisation and have a defined timeframe, such as:
- Creating admin framework
- Specific grant application
- Helping at youth workshops during the holidays
- Tidying a nature reserve
