Summary

Community Gardening

Detailed description

We have a number of jobs that we require help with through winter including mulching paths with woodchip and veg beds with manure or compost; weeding and cutting back the herb borders of our potager garden area and rebuilding pallet bay compost bins and a reclaimed greenhouse.

Our organisation welcomes into our food growing and sharing community volunteers of all ages and abilities who are able to work independently or with their own carer or support worker with them. No gardening experience needed. We have this year started welcoming DofE (Duke of Edinburgh) volunteers from the age of 14 years.

We run weekly volunteer sessions from Ron's Plot Community Allotment in Westmill, Hitchin based on Permaculture design and the ethics of caring for the earth, caring for people and sharing fairly.

We meet every Tuesday and Saturday from 11am.
