Supervision Superstars Needed!

HTTCC are looking for a male or female volunteers to act as Chaperone & Child Protection Volunteers for our table tennis club on a Friday evening. The session is attended by adults and (3 girls +5 boys) 8 children. The children are all accompanied by either playing parents or parents present in the main hall for the duration of the session. There are no "problematic" children attending the session at this Elite Coaching club which has a waiting list due to the fact all players are guaranteed a table for the duration of the session.

The person must be able to pass a DBS check or already have a current one and be a non smoker and available to attend on a Friday evening at Redbourn from 7.25 to 9.30pm.

The duties of the volunteer will include ;

i)be present or playing in one hall for the duration of the session.

ii)collect any forms for the Dof E awards & GCSE forms to hand to the Licensed Coach.

iii)announce the end of the session and put the bats and nets away.

iv)Lock the windows in that hall only.

Any first aid, umpire or child protection course will of course be paid for by the club. No prior experience is necessary. A kitchen is available for drinks and heating snacks etc.

This is a regular commitment but the volunteers are not obliged to attend every session as we operate a rota scheme, we operate for 42 weeks of the year with shutdowns for Christmas, Easter and summer holidays.

The volunteer in return will enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the club players and coaches. Any coaching to improve their table tennis will be provided free of charge and help to reduce weight and improve fitness can also be rendered. A free bat and case will be supplied to the volunteer after an analysis of their style and level. We also have an annual Christmas lunch for all the volunteers and coaches.

The volunteers will also get the satisfaction of ensuring a safe environment for the children to excel and achieve their best in their sport.
