We are looking for a volunteer to join our Marketing team to help maximise the effectiveness of our website, social media and advertising

Duties would include producing and editing “marketing” content, tracking the reach of campaigns and conducting market research to identify trends that improve the charity’s services. We operate remotely so this is not an office based role, neither are there set working hours, although some availability during the working week for communication with other members of the team would be an advantage. A suitable laptop can be provided for this work if necessary.

Ideally you would have good communication skills (verbal and written), be fluent in English and able to write and dispatch marketing campaigns. Also to have a knowledge of the impactful use of social media platforms, Microsoft office, WordPress, Google Analytics, WordPress websites and product marketing experience. The ability to work as part of a team is important, but also the ability to work independently.

We offer on the job training and support from the other members of the Marketing team and travel expenses where appropriate, however ideally you would live in the St Albans/Harpenden area. Ours is a small group of around 50 volunteers and we like to feel we all offer advice and support to our fellow members in any way we can.

To apply, please visit the Get Involved area of our website, or send us a message on this platform.

About Computer Friendly

Computer Friendly is a non-profit organisation staffed with friendly and experienced unpaid volunteers. We have been delivering low cost computer training in the community since 2002, to adults who may want an alternative to more formal or commercial courses. In 2020 we were awarded the very prestigious Queens Award for Voluntary Services.

Our objective is to help anyone in St Albans and District, including disadvantaged and excluded people, to gain computer skills. These people could include the retired, unemployed or disabled from diverse groups.

We aim to support individuals who would benefit from our unique style of learning. We use premises in St Albans, London Colney, Wheathampstead, Flamstead, Harpenden and Redbourn to provide weekly Drop-In Centres for information, advice & guidance, and deliver 50 courses each year for beginners, as well as diverse Internet-based leisure courses.
