Be part of a small caring community/team to support parents through encouraging conversations and children through gentle, creative and interactive play.

At daisychains we have been offering our families friendship and a safe place to share the joys and challenges of family life for over 10 years. We celebrate and accept individuality and encourage our families to build supportive networks with each other and access professional services and support available. We keep our weekly meetings to a maximum of 10 families so we can respond dynamically to the unique needs of the group, build trusted and positive relationships and offer a high ratio of volunteer support to parents and children.

Each week we offer a variety of activities including sensory play, communication and interactive games, arts and crafts, music and singing, bubbles and a social snack time. We have regular visits from Pickles the therapy pony, health professionals, a speech and language therapist and enjoy occasional social events and family trips.

You would be joining committed and caring volunteers who work closely as team and have a real heart for the well-being of our amazing families. We support our team through offering training eg. makaton, intensive interaction; supervision and opportunities to engage socially.

We are particularly looking for committed volunteers to join our daisychains family who have experience with working alongside vulnerable families and are confident engaging with pre-school children in interactive and creative ways. As a team we share the responsibilities of running the group so we would encourage you to share any particular skills or interests you have that would contribute to our varied programme. In particular we are looking for help with social media proficiency, administrative tasks, event organisation and creative resources.

Our daisychains sessions meet every Wednesday during term time from 1-2.30pm. Volunteers meet at 12 to set up the hall and we bring a packed lunch to eat together at 12.30pm when we can catch up together and have a brief meeting before the families arrive. Once the families have left we pack away and are usually finished by 3pm.
