On Monday 8th May we are asking as many volunteers as possible to help paint, sand, and generally create our outdoor cafe space & maintain our historic site.Detailed description
From 9 - 5 on Monday 8th May, as part of the nationwide Big Help Out, we are hoping for as many volunteers as possible to come and join us for the day creating our outdoor stay-and-play cafe space for visitors, parents and pre-schoolers for the summer months, as well as repairing and maintaining as many parts of our unique historic site as we can do in one day!
Whether or not you've done anything like this before, whatever your background, whatever your interests, we would love to have your help. We will be sanding and painting, cleaning and dusting, repairing and generally making our site as shiny as possible.
I'm afraid there is only very limited parking onsite, and we are unable to reimburse travel or other expenses. Due to the historic nature of the site, there are two areas that cannot be accessed by wheelchairs.
If you can give us a whole day or just an hour, everyone is welcome. Come and get to know our site and help preserve a unique historic site in the heart of Hitchin.
