Help our Duty Manager move furniture after major maintenance work at the British Schools Museum. Heavy lifting involved.
We are looking for a few volunteers to help our Duty Manager move furniture and equipment back into place following major maintenance work at the museum.
This is a practical, hands-on opportunity and will involve heavy lifting and moving furniture, so volunteers should be physically able to carry out this type of activity safely. Full guidance will be provided by the Duty Manager, and volunteers will work as part of a small team.
This is a one-off volunteering opportunity, ideal for anyone who enjoys practical tasks and would like to help us get the museum ready for visitors following our maintenance works.
What you'll be doing
- Moving furniture and equipment within the museum
- Helping to return rooms and spaces to their usual layout
- Working alongside the Duty Manager and other volunteers
- Following instructions and safe manual-handling practices
What we're looking for
- Volunteers who are comfortable with physical work and heavy lifting
- A willingness to work as part of a team
- Reliability and a practical, can-do attitude
Volunteer benefits: Volunteers are covered by the museum's Employer's Liability Insurance while carrying out agreed volunteering activities. As a thank you for your help, volunteers will also receive 50% off drinks in our café and free parking at Hotel Priory for the day.
If you are available on 15 August and would like to lend a hand, we would be delighted to hear from you!
