Be a Friendly Face for Addenbrooke's Charity at Addenbrooke’s
About the Role
Enjoy meeting people and making them feel welcome? This could be a lovely way to use your time to help Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie do even more for patients and families.
You’ll welcome patients, visitors and staff at one of our hospital Information Hubs. As an Addenbrooke's Charity Information Hub Volunteer, you’ll share a little about the charity and help people discover ways to donate, fundraise or volunteer.
Ways You Can Get Involved
You don’t need to know everything about Addenbrooke's Charity before you start. Bring a friendly manner and a willingness to help — you can learn about our work as you build your confidence.
Hub support
- Welcoming people to the Addenbrooke's Charity Information Hub
- Talking about Addenbrooke's Charity and how donations make a difference
- Signposting people to ways they can support the charity
Raising awareness
- Promoting Addenbrooke's Charity’s fundraising and volunteering opportunities
- Helping distribute Addenbrooke's Charity information and literature
- Representing Addenbrooke's Charity positively within the hospital environment
We'll Support You Along the Way
We’ll help you feel confident with full training and ongoing support. Travel expenses and a reference after two months are also provided.
You won’t be on your own. The Addenbrooke's Charity Fundraising Team will guide and support you throughout your volunteering.
Is This Role Right for You?
We warmly welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and walks of life. Diversity makes Addenbrooke's Charity stronger, and every new volunteer brings a valuable perspective.
No previous experience is needed. If you’re keen to learn and would enjoy helping people feel welcome, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll bring:
- A friendly, approachable personality
- Confidence talking to a wide range of people (or a willingness to build it)
- A passion for supporting Addenbrooke’s and The Rosie hospitals
If you volunteer at the Oncology Hub, you’ll need to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Welcoming. Rewarding. Impactful.
Help be the friendly face that connects people to life-changing care

About Addenbrookes Charitable Trust
Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust is the only registered charity dedicated to supporting innovation in patient care across Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Whether it’s treatment for an emergency, acute condition, pregnancy or long term illness, we believe that every patient deserves the highest quality of care available.
Thanks to the immensely generous support of our donors, Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals can provide a level of patient care beyond that which can be delivered by NHS funding alone and make projects happen sooner or to a greater degree than might have otherwise been possible.
Charitable donations fund high-tech equipment, specialist staff, extra comforts and vital research to find potential cures and help save lives locally, nationally and worldwide.
