Bring Your Community Together for Addenbrooke's Charity
About the Role
Enjoy meeting people and sharing a cause you care about? As a Charity Champion, you can help people in your community discover Addenbrooke's Charity and find ways to get involved. Choose opportunities we provide or explore connections through your own local networks.
We'll help you feel confident with training, resources and ongoing support. No previous fundraising, presenting or public speaking experience is needed.
Ways You Can Get Involved
Choose activities that suit your interests, skills and availability—you don't need to do them all. You could:
- Join community, fundraising and awareness events as a friendly representative of the charity.
- Give talks or presentations to local groups, organisations, clubs or workplaces.
- Share our story and help people discover ways to volunteer, fundraise or offer support.
- Get to know local groups and organisations, introducing the charity to new people and potential supporters.
- Proactively explore opportunities for talks, presentations or awareness sessions through your own networks, helping connect your community with the charity.
We'll Support You Along the Way
We'll help you get started with an introduction to the charity, our impact and your role. You'll have presentations, resources, guidance and promotional materials to help you share our story and build confidence speaking to groups and supporters.
You won't be on your own. The Volunteering Team will answer questions, help you prepare for talks, events and awareness activities, and keep you updated on opportunities. We'd love to hear your ideas and local connections, and we'll help you get the most from volunteering, whatever your experience.
Is This Role Right for You?
- You're enthusiastic about Addenbrooke's Charity and have a friendly, approachable manner.
- You enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and feel comfortable sharing information and experiences.
- You're interested in your community and keen to help build local connections and opportunities.
- You're reliable, willing to learn about our work and happy to represent the charity in a positive and welcoming way.
Already connected with local groups, clubs, workplaces or organisations? Comfortable speaking to small groups or helping with presentations? Experience of volunteering, fundraising or community activities is welcome too—but none of these are essential.
If you're friendly, enthusiastic and would enjoy connecting your community with a cause that matters, we'd love to hear from you.
Rewarding. Local. Impactful.
Help be the voice that connects people to life‑changing care.

About Addenbrookes Charitable Trust
Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust is the only registered charity dedicated to supporting innovation in patient care across Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Whether it’s treatment for an emergency, acute condition, pregnancy or long term illness, we believe that every patient deserves the highest quality of care available.
Thanks to the immensely generous support of our donors, Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals can provide a level of patient care beyond that which can be delivered by NHS funding alone and make projects happen sooner or to a greater degree than might have otherwise been possible.
Charitable donations fund high-tech equipment, specialist staff, extra comforts and vital research to find potential cures and help save lives locally, nationally and worldwide.
