Detailed description

Play worker for Young Carers Crew:

Help run sessions for our group of young carers (aged 8 to 18). Sessions are held fortnightly on Thursday evenings in termtime--normally in Stevenage. Give hardworking young carers a break and some me-time, as well as a chance for them to receive emotional support. In addition there's the chance to help run occasional special trips for the young carers.

The group is led by our Youth Group Leader, Anji, who will guide and support you in your role.

You will need a DBS check and we require you to do some training, particularly Safeguarding Children. These will be paid for by Young Carers Crew.

You will find this a really rewarding thing to do, knowing you are helping provide much needed support for local young carers.

About Young Carers Crew

Young Carers Crew (YCC) is an independent charity based in Stevenage that provides respite and support to young carers living in Stevenage and North Hertfordshire. The young carers are young people aged 8-18 that are primary or secondary carers for a member of their family.
We run fortnightly sessions and occasional outings where we hope they can ‘just be themselves’ and enjoy their time at the group.
YCC also aims to serve as a place for the young carers to get any support they may need from other young carers, or the volunteers at the group.
