This is an exciting opportunity - we are looking for a strong project manager to oversee the shop refurbishment and preparation for launch for our latest store.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the refurbishment and launch of a new charity retail store. This role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering the shop fit-out on time and within budget, working with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. 

The shop layout, design and building contractors have already been identified. The main aim of this role will be to support the Head of Retail, to ensure the project is delivered to plan, on time, and within budget.

  • Scope of work: shop refurbishment, fit-out, merchandising setup
  • Responsibilities: timelines, budget management, contractor coordination
  • Stakeholders: internal teams, suppliers
  • Outcome: successful store launch and trading readiness
  • Purpose: supporting the charity’s mission/fundraising goals

What are we looking for?

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven project management experience (ideally overseeing refurbishments, fit-outs, or property projects)
  • Strong planning and organisational skills – able to manage timelines, budgets, and multiple workstreams
  • Contractor and supplier management – coordinating trades, negotiating, and ensuring quality delivery
  • Budget management – tracking costs and delivering within agreed budgets
  • Stakeholder management – confident working with internal teams and external partners
  • Problem-solving ability – able to respond quickly to issues and keep the project on track
  • Good communication skills – clear updates, reporting, and coordination across teams

Desirable (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience in retail environment fit-outs or shop openings
  • Knowledge of health & safety / compliance (particularly in construction or retail settings)
  • Experience working with or for a charity or not-for-profit
  • Understanding of visual merchandising / store layout
  • Familiarity with local contractors or property processes
