Summary

Join our happy team in our busy kitchen from 11am-2pm. You will be learning new skills, meeting friendly people and make a difference to your community.

Detailed description

Working in our team of friendly staff and volunteers, you will be the go-to person with the role of preparing and presenting our cafe food.

As someone who has an interest in a fast moving hospitality environment, you will take pride in presenting simple items (such as toasties, baked potatoes etc) from our menu. You will be able to keep calm and organised in a busy kitchen.

  • Full training and ongoing support given, tailored to your capabilities,
  • Fully supported "Taster" session,
  • Volunteer Social Events throughout the year,
  • Some of our volunteers go on to have jobs with us.
  • Opportunities for further funded external training (such as Food Hygiene Certificates).

  • We run free-to-attend social activities for various sections of the community, such as a crochet group, Compassionate Cafe (in conjunction with Rennie Grove Peace),Tea Club for those who may be feeling isolation and a Family Board Games Night.

About Wigginton Community Shop & Cafe

Opened in December 2018, we are an award-winning Community Benefits Society primarily funded and run by our amazing community and volunteers, with the vision that we will create a community meeting hub and support local enterprise and projects, both financially and practically.
