Trustee Role – Premises & Maintenance Support
Wheathampstead Chapel Community Hub (WCCH) is seeking a volunteer trustee to help oversee the upkeep and maintenance of our community facilities.
WCCH operates two buildings within the Chapel Hub: a community gym and a hall used by local groups and for hire. These well-used facilities are central to community life, and we are looking for someone practical who can help the trustee board ensure the buildings remain safe, well maintained and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities
- Provide oversight of general building maintenance across the Chapel Hub premises
- Help identify and prioritise maintenance needs and small improvement projects
- Liaise with contractors or volunteers when repairs or works are required
- Offer practical advice to the trustee board on building-related matters
- Support the board in ensuring appropriate health and safety standards are maintained
- Attend six trustee meetings per year
Time commitment
Approximately 2 hours per week on average, with flexibility. Time may vary depending on maintenance issues that arise.
Ideal skills or experience
We welcome interest from people who are practical and community-minded. Useful backgrounds might include:
- General handyman or practical DIY skills
- Building maintenance or facilities management
- Trades, property or construction experience
- Project coordination
