Join the Board of Watford Social Centre for the Blind Help improve the lives of people with sight loss in Watford and the surrounding area.
75 Years of friendship. A future without barriers.
Watford Social Centre for the Blind is looking for three new volunteer trustees to join our Board.
For 75 years, we have been supporting people living with sight loss across Watford and the surrounding area by providing friendship, social activities and practical support.
This is an exciting time to join us.
Following the successful completion of our step-free access improvements and accessibility upgrades, we are looking for three new trustees to help us build on this achievement and shape the future of our charity.
We are particularly interested in hearing from:
People with lived experience of sight loss who can bring valuable personal insight.
People with legal or accountancy experience, ideally with charity sector knowledge.
However, you don't need previous trustee experience — we welcome anyone who is passionate about supporting their local community and would like to make a difference.
As a trustee, you will help shape the future of a valued local charity, work alongside a dedicated volunteer team and play an important role in supporting people living with sight loss.

About Watford Social Centre for the Blind
The Watford Blind Centre is an independent self-funded charity relying on donations to operate. We meet weekly in the centre of Watford at The Rene Milton Hall, which was named after our founder chairman and is owned by the charity.
The centre is supported and led by a group of volunteers who are not carers or linked to the social services but individuals who enjoy working with others. Help and advice can be provided about equipment and gadgets for blind and partially blind people.
We are able to provide an opportunity to meet socially with those who have a similar disability and support our members with help and advice about equipment and gadgets for blind and partially blind.
We welcome new members of any age who are blind or visually impaired and who are able bodied within Watford and the surrounding area.
