We are looking for a motivated and organised Fundraising Volunteer. You will apply for Grants, Create Engaging Campaigns, and have fun Empowering our Community!
Position: Fundraising Volunteer
Organisation: Thrive 2Gether Youth & Community Centres
Location: Mainly remote (with occasional meetings at our Watford or other centres)
Hours: Flexible – approximately 6–10 hours per week (to suit your availability)
Reporting to: Centre Coordinator (Nilesh Vadhwana)
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated, organised, and values-driven Fundraising Volunteer to help secure the financial future of Thrive 2Gether. You will play a vital role in applying for grants and designing and running ethical, engaging fundraising campaigns that support our mission of empowering young people and building stronger communities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to use their skills to create real social impact while gaining valuable experience in fundraising, grant writing, and campaign management.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify suitable grant opportunities from trusts, foundations, companies, and local authorities
- Prepare and submit high-quality grant applications
- Design and run creative fundraising campaigns that align with Thrive 2Gether’s values (e.g. Ride for Thrive, Sponsor a Young Person, Crowdfunding campaigns)
- Develop compelling case-for-support materials, stories, and impact reports
- Work closely with the Marketing & Social Media Volunteer to promote campaigns
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential funders and donors
- Track applications, deadlines, and outcomes
- Ensure all fundraising activities reflect our values of safety, inclusivity, positivity, youth empowerment, and community impact
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Strong written communication skills and ability to write persuasively
- Good research skills and attention to detail
- Passion for Thrive 2Gether’s mission and commitment to our values
- Organised and able to manage your own workload and deadlines
- High level of integrity and ethical approach to fundraising
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in fundraising, grant writing, or campaign management
- Knowledge of the local Hertfordshire/London funding landscape
- Experience using tools such as Funding Finder, GrantFinder, or similar databases
- Creative ideas for community-based fundraising events and campaigns
- Basic understanding of charity fundraising regulations (e.g. Gift Aid)
