Summary
We’re seeking a trustee with expertise in estates management, surveying, or property to join our board.
Detailed description
Are you an experienced estates or property professional looking to give back to your community? Do you want to use your skills to support a youth charity with its property strategy and facilities?
We’re seeking a trustee with expertise in estates management, surveying, or property to join our board and help guide our approach to buildings, leases, maintenance, and future planning.
About Us
We are a small youth charity working to empower young people through community programmes, events, and support. As we grow, we want to ensure our spaces are safe, sustainable, and fit for purpose — and that we make wise decisions about property and facilities.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with professional experience in:
- Estates surveying
- Property management
- Facilities or asset management
- Lease negotiation or capital projects
You don’t need prior trustee experience — just a willingness to contribute your expertise and help us make informed decisions.
Key Areas You Might Support
- Advising on leases, property use, and compliance
- Supporting decisions around maintenance, refurbishment, or relocation
- Helping us plan for future property needs
- Ensuring our spaces are safe, accessible, and youth-friendly
Trustee Responsibilities
As a trustee, you’ll:
- Attend board meetings (usually quarterly, with some additional involvement as needed).
- Contribute to strategic decisions and oversight.
- Act as a critical friend to the leadership team.
- Help ensure the charity meets its legal and ethical obligations.
What You’ll Gain
- A chance to make a real difference in young people’s lives
- Experience in charity governance and leadership
- Opportunities for personal and professional development
- Connection with a passionate and supportive team
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, especially those with lived experience of the issues we work on.
