We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and energetic volunteer Play Worker, helping us to deliver children’s activities across Herts

You would be helping us to deliver children’s activities for ages 0-4 years and 5-8 years during school holiday periods (approximately 20 sessions annually). We would greatly appreciate someone with creative ideas to help make our activities exciting and engaging.

You will form positive relationships with our young membership and parents and be creative and sensitive in your approach in helping children to develop language, skills, friendships, positive wellbeing and a sense of inclusion.

Ideally you will be a Native BSL user or trained to a minimum level 2 in BSL, consideration will be made for experienced Early Years practitioners who have a willingness to learn BSL.

Key role:

  • Assist in the planning, delivery and evaluation of activities for children aged 0 -8 years.
  • Be led by children and parents as to how best Phoenix can provide activities that support children’s development.

Main responsibilities:

  • Form professional and positive relationships with children and their carers.
  • Provide fun and engaging activities for children, being creative in your methods of engagement.
  • Promote children’s independence, sense of inclusion and empowerment.
  • Work effectively with other team members and external partners to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
  • Always ensure the safety and safeguarding of children.
  • To always provide a professional service.
