Ready to make a difference to a young person's life?
We are looking for inspirational role models who will tutor KS4 Foundation Maths at a secondary school in Hertfordshire once a week for a period of 10-12 weeks. You will be matched with a small number of pupils and provide them with the academic support, encouragement and inspiration they need to get back on track.
All our volunteer tutors receive full training, lesson resources, and support from a qualified
teacher/facilitator throughout their placement. Sessions are 60 minutes long. Following each session, we ask you to complete a short report for each pupil to help us monitor their progress.
Alongside this meaningful experience, you will also be able to gain access to our career
mentorship scheme and attend our employability seminars, as well as receiving a
personalised reference upon completion.
This is an opportunity to expand your professional network, enhance your CV and improve
your employability skills - all whilst supporting young people from low-income
backgrounds!
What are we looking for?
Enthusiasm and strong grades in Maths
Committed and organised individuals who are keen to develop new skills
Good interpersonal skills when dealing with pupils
When does the role start?
We are recruiting volunteers for our school programmes starting end of September '25. Exact timing TBC.
Where is the role?
Our volunteer tutors can choose between the following two school programmes:
Onslow St Audrey's School, postcode: AL10 8AB
Ridgeway Academy, postcode: AL7 2AF
Additional considerations/ information:
This role requires all volunteers to undergo a free of charge DBS check
Travel expenses up to £15 per session are covered for all volunteers
