Working directly with the children, young people, parent & carers in our groupwork programme.Detailed description
Our Bereavement Support Volunteer plays a vital role in providing compassionate support to children, young people, and their parent/carers who are experiencing grief.
Working as part of a team within our Groupwork programme, your role aims to help children, young people process their emotions, develop coping strategies, and feel less isolated in their grief journey.
You will also be working the parents/carers of the children within group providing them with the support and skills they need to help support their child.
Experience of working with children and adults is beneficial.
Our Groups are held on Saturday mornings and currently a Thursday late afternoon. (You would need to be available to from 3:30pm as group starts at 4:15pm).

Stand-by-me Bereavement Support is an award-winning registered charity that was created to support bereaved children, young people and their families in North Hertfordshire and Stevenage. Our volunteers play a vital role in the work we do, whether you are helping to set up an event, working in a group to raise funds, championing the work we do with local businesses, letting bereaved children and their families know where they can get help or working directly with children and young people in our groups, you will make a difference. And together we can help change the lives of bereaved children and young people in North Herts and Stevenage.
