We are looking to significantly improve our use of social media to raise awareness of our work, reach potential participants, their families & the world.

we are looking for a volunteer to undertake a practical social media strategy and implementation project with a small Hertfordshire charity.

The charity provides competitive sporting opportunities for people with neurological disabilities in Hertfordshire. We are looking to significantly improve our use of social media to raise awareness of our work, reach potential participants and their families, engage supporters and volunteers, develop relationships with sponsors and funders, and showcase the achievements of our athletes.

Rather than simply asking to manage our existing social-media accounts, we would like to offer a genuine client project in which the student could:

    • audit our existing social-media presence and communications;
    • identify and research our key audiences;
    • develop a coherent social-media strategy and objectives;
    • establish appropriate content themes, messaging and tone of voice;
    • develop a practical content calendar and campaign ideas;
    • create and publish social-media content, including photographs, video and short-form content where appropriate;
    • monitor engagement and performance;
    • use analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy; and
    • leave the charity with a sustainable strategy, content framework and recommendations that we can continue using after the project ends.

We believe this could provide a with valuable experience of working with a real organisation and client, developing and implementing a communications strategy, while contributing to a charity whose purpose is to enable people with neurological disabilities to participate and compete in sport.
