BUGS campaigns for the improvement of local bus services, and liaise with County and Borough Councils and bus operators Formal meetings take place no more than once a month, and we are a key stakeholder and active consultee as part of the Intalink Enhanced Partnership as well as a constituted branch of Bus Users UK.

We require someone with good digital skills to help with the administration of our meetings, helping to set agendas and minute these. Meetings may be face-to-face or online.

Committee and members meetings generally take place no more than once a month, although there may be ad-hoc communication between meetings and other events, e.g.community publicity events in which to partake.

We also have a Facebook page and Twitter account, so it would be an advantage, though not essential, for applicants to have familiarity with using these social media platforms.

Volunteers can take pride in providing support to members of the public with their transport options, helping operators and councils to deliver improved service, and encouraging greener and cheaper choices for travel.

Members of the committee also take trips on bus journeys to assess the services and visit other destinations, so there are also opportunities to travel with good company to explore Stevenage's surrounding towns and villages.
