Our nurses rely on our pool cars every single day to get to patients’ homes. By helping us keep these vehicles clean and safe, you'll be playing a vital role.

Our nurses rely on our pool cars every single day to get to patients’ homes and provide compassionate care. By helping us keep these vehicles clean, safe and road‑ready, you’ll play a practical but vital role in supporting hospice care in the community.

💜 What you’ll be doing

  • Giving our pool cars a monthly clean, inside and out
  • Carrying out simple weekly checks (oil levels, tyre pressures, lights, wipers)
  • Noting any new scratches or damage
  • Helping us prepare vehicles for winter
  • Letting our Transport Co‑ordinator know when checks are done

Nothing too technical – just good basic car knowledge and a careful eye.

🙋‍♂️ Who we’re looking for

  • You’re 25+ with a clean driving licence
  • You have basic car maintenance knowledge
  • You’re reliable, happy working independently and enjoy practical tasks

🌟 What’s in it for you?

  • The satisfaction of supporting nurses and patients directly, even if you’re not patient-facing
  • A flexible role that fits easily around work or other commitments
  • A chance to use practical skills in a meaningful, worthwhile way
  • Support from a named line manager and role‑specific training
  • Reasonable out‑of‑pocket expenses reimbursed
  • Being part of a friendly, values‑led hospice charity making a real difference every day

About Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care

When serious illness strikes, we're here to help people in our community get the best out of every day. From the moment of diagnosis our specialist teams work with each individual to provide the compassionate care they need, in the place that's best for them. This is what we call: extraordinary care, anywhere.

We know that life-limiting illness doesn't just affect the individual, so we care for those around each patient, too – both during an illness and through bereavement.

It takes a whole community to provide this care to everybody who needs it. Our volunteers, supporters and champions in the community are the driving force behind everything we do.
