📱 Supporting social media campaigns and helping to spread awareness of our work
✍️ Assisting with copywriting for marketing materials, website content and social media posts
📰 Researching PR opportunities and helping keep media contacts up to date
💡 Supporting our marketing team with campaigns that inspire people to support hospice care in their local community
What skills and qualities do I need?
We're looking for people who:
✅ Have a passion for communication and storytelling
✅ Have a good eye for detail, spelling and grammar
✅ Enjoy creating content and understand what makes engaging social media posts
✅ Are confident using computers and online systems
✅ Have good research skills and an interest in marketing, PR or communications
✅ Are happy working independently while following guidance and support from the team
✅ Are willing to travel occasionally to our shops, cafés, support hubs and events
It would be great if you also have:
⭐ Experience of marketing, communications or social media
⭐ Experience using Canva or similar design tools
⭐ Relevant qualifications, studies or work experience in marketing, communications, digital media or web content
But don't worry if you're still learning, enthusiasm and willingness to get involved are just as important.
What's in it for me?
💜 The chance to use your creativity to support patients and families living with a life-limiting illness
📚 Valuable hands-on experience in marketing, PR, communications and content creation
🎯 Opportunities to build your portfolio and develop new skills
👥 Ongoing support from a dedicated manager and friendly team
🌱 Training tailored to your role
🏆 Experience within a well-respected local charity
Where will I volunteer?
📍 Our Marketing Team works across our sites in Tring, St Albans and Watford.
🏡 Once you're set up, much of the role can be carried out remotely, giving you flexibility around your other commitments.
How much time will I need to give?
⏰ We're flexible and happy to work around the time you have available.
📅 We'll agree a volunteering pattern that works for both you and the team
Training and support
You'll receive induction and mandatory training, along with role-specific guidance and ongoing support from a named manager. We'll help you develop your confidence and make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your volunteering.
Before you start
We'll invite you for an informal chat so we can get to know each other and make sure the role is a good fit.
If you decide to join us, you'll simply need to complete a volunteer application form and provide proof of identity before getting started.

About Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care
When serious illness strikes, we're here to help people in our community get the best out of every day. From the moment of diagnosis our specialist teams work with each individual to provide the compassionate care they need, in the place that's best for them. This is what we call: extraordinary care, anywhere.
We know that life-limiting illness doesn't just affect the individual, so we care for those around each patient, too – both during an illness and through bereavement.
It takes a whole community to provide this care to everybody who needs it. Our volunteers, supporters and champions in the community are the driving force behind everything we do.
Applications closing in 3 months.
