Summary

We're looking for a friendly person who would be happy travelling to all our offices and shops to keep track of our valuable IT equipment

Detailed description

Purpose of this role

Our busy ICT team works hard to make sure that our frontline nurses and clinical staff, as well as our support staff, such as HR and Finance, have the equipment they need to do their jobs.

With a large number of staff spread over a number of different locations, it is sometimes difficult to keep up to date with the location of valuable equipment.

We are looking for a volunteer (or volunteers) to help the team keep up to date with this information.

Main tasks

·      Conduct quarterly audits of IT equipment across all company locations, including offices and retail shops.

·      Update and maintain asset registers in Excel with latest information such as device make & model, location, assigned user, status, etc.

·      Investigate and help locate missing or unreturned equipment.

·      Identify equipment that is non-compliant or due for replacement.

·      Assist with minor hardware tasks, such as memory upgrades, labelling equipment, and delivery or collection when visiting site.

·      Work closely with the IT Support Manager to ensure data accuracy and improve asset tracking processes.

·      Maintain the Equipment Room inventory.

What are we looking for?

·      Someone with meticulous attention to detail

·      A friendly, personable manner, as you will be out and about mixing with staff and volunteers

·      Good IT skills

·      Ability to work independently under instruction

·      Access to your own vehicle

What do you need to know?

  • not all our offices and shops are accessible to wheelchair users, and some of the equipment may be in awkward places requiring you to get onto the floor or move equipment to view it properly
  • we're very happy to talk to you about any reasonable adjustments we can make to support you

What's in it for you?

  • By keeping track of expensive equipment you will be making sure the charity makes the best use of its resources
  • you will be using your skills to support our busy IT team
  • you will be travelling between our 5 offices and 32 shops meeting staff and volunteers and making social connections
  • some of our volunteers do go on to get jobs with us. If you would like to see our current job vacancies please visit our website and click on the Jobs button

What we will provide to volunteers

About Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care

At Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care, our unique care provides a lifeline of compassion and support to patients, carers, and families facing progressive life-limiting illness.

We provide palliative and end of life care support, including bereavement services, within Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire and our patient services are available to adults, as well as patients transitioning into adult services (16 to 25 years.) Bereavement support is offered for all ages to families of patients and those around them, as well as throughout the community, in schools and workplaces.

We are proud to offer care in the place that best suits the individual’s needs, whether that’s at home, in a care home, in a short stay in our inpatient unit, out in the community, or in our purpose-built Living Well Centre facilities. As a hospice care charity, we have offered this support, free of charge, for over 40 years.
