Purpose of this role
Our HR team focusses on recruiting, onboarding and supporting staff across the whole charity. They are incredibly busy and have a number of standard processes that need doing regularly. Having a volunteer to support with this will free up their valuable time to be more customer focussed.
Main tasks
The jobs that a volunteer could do may include some or all of the following:
- Scan files belonging to current employees and ensure they are added onto Sharepoint and our HR database (Cascade) accurately
- Review paperwork that we hold for ex-employees to see if it needs destroying or scanning, in accordance with our data management policy.
- Carrying out regular driving checks for staff (car insurance, MOT, driving licence checks) and uploading the information onto our HR database, Cascade
- Following up on probation paperwork and uploading it to individual staff’s records
- Using reports to fill in gaps in the data on our database
- General admin tasks such as shredding, photocopying etc.
What are we looking for?
· Very confident IT skills including the use of MS Office and MS Outlook
· Previous use of a database would be helpful, but we will train you in how to use Cascade
· Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to follow a process
· Happy to work with our friendly team, but also able to get on with a task independently
· An understanding that confidentiality is paramount
· Age 18+

We provide palliative and end of life care support, including bereavement services, within Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire and our patient services are available to adults, as well as patients transitioning into adult services (16 to 25 years.) Bereavement support is offered for all ages to families of patients and those around them, as well as throughout the community, in schools and workplaces.
We are proud to offer care in the place that best suits the individual’s needs, whether that’s at home, in a care home, in a short stay in our inpatient unit, out in the community, or in our purpose-built Living Well Centre facilities. As a hospice care charity, we have offered this support, free of charge, for over 40 years.
