We’re looking for friendly, practical team players who can help keep our gardens looking beautiful all year round.

Join our friendly team of volunteer gardeners at Peace Hospice and help create an attractive, peaceful space for patients, families and visitors to enjoy all year round.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be part of a small team helping to keep the gardens looking their best. Tasks can include:

  • Weeding, planting and digging
  • Mowing the lawn and shrub pruning
  • Cleaning paved areas and general tidying
  • Working in the greenhouse (watering, sowing seeds, potting on)
  • Occasional projects to redesign and replant areas
  • Moving pots, compost bags or garden furniture (some tasks can be heavy-duty)

What’s in it for you

  • Use your gardening skills for a meaningful cause and see the difference you make - our patients, staff, volunteers and visitors enjoy the restful, calm space that the garden provides
  • Enjoy fresh air, gentle exercise and time outdoors
  • Our friendly group of volunteers enjoy working together and there's always time for a cuppa and a chat

Who we’re looking for

Someone with good basic gardening knowledge who is reliable, flexible and enjoys working as part of a team. You’ll need to be comfortable using gardening tools and happy to get stuck into tasks that can include lifting and digging.

Getting there

About Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care

When serious illness strikes, we're here to help people in our community get the best out of every day. From the moment of diagnosis our specialist teams work with each individual to provide the compassionate care they need, in the place that's best for them. This is what we call: extraordinary care, anywhere.

We know that life-limiting illness doesn't just affect the individual, so we care for those around each patient, too – both during an illness and through bereavement.

It takes a whole community to provide this care to everybody who needs it. Our volunteers, supporters and champions in the community are the driving force behind everything we do.
