Summary

Do you have a passion for jewellery? Can you help identify and value specialist items to make the listings as enticing as possible and get the best price

Detailed description

Purpose of this role

We are donated a range of eclectic items including jewellery and are looking for the help of a specialist to list and value these items accurately for sale online.

Our specialists volunteer with the Ecommerce team based in our retail office. The team work together to source, list, pack and dispatch good quality donations. The money raised from the sale of these items helps fund patient care in your local community. We sell on online platforms, including eBay and Vinted, making the most out of every donation, and contribute to the recycling and reuse of pre-loved items, keeping them out of landfill.

We are a busy, and friendly retail team of staff and volunteers, working in a fast-moving environment to meet demanding deadlines.

Main tasks

  • researching and writing descriptions for donated items using a template
  • advising on a starting price for the appropriate auction site
  • restoring and repairing items for sale using specialist skills
  • striving to maximise the income we receive for each item to support our patient care

  • someone with a specialist knowledge of jewellery items - a relevant qualification or professional experience would be really welcome
  • an excellent standard of English and grammar
  • someone who can follow a process accurately

  • you will be amazed at the things that people donate, and enjoy working out where is the best place to sell them
  • you will be making an important difference to the care that we are able to provide to local patients and their families

About Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care

At Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care, our unique care provides a lifeline of compassion and support to patients, carers, and families facing progressive life-limiting illness.

We provide palliative and end of life care support, including bereavement services, within Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire and our patient services are available to adults, as well as patients transitioning into adult services (16 to 25 years.) Bereavement support is offered for all ages to families of patients and those around them, as well as throughout the community, in schools and workplaces.

We are proud to offer care in the place that best suits the individual’s needs, whether that’s at home, in a care home, in a short stay in our inpatient unit, out in the community, or in our purpose-built Living Well Centre facilities. As a hospice care charity, we have offered this support, free of charge, for over 40 years.
