Around 12,000 adults in our area may not be able to read.

Not being able to read has a negative impact on a person’s ability to earn money, to be independent, or to support their children to learn.

You could play a vital role in changing their lives.

Read Easy Stevenage and North Herts is a small group of volunteers providing free and confidential one-to-one reading coaching for adults in this area.

As our Venues Organiser, you would be part of our management team helping to run our group. The role would involve:

• Finding organisations and businesses willing to offer a room or suitable space on their premises for your reading pairs to use at certain times of the week when it is not in use.
• Managing the relationship between the venues and the group and sourcing new venues as the group grows.
• Ensuring that the premises are suitable for Read Easy by using the Venue Checklist.
• Reporting on the venues arranged to the Management Team to gain their approval.
• Confirming the arrangements in writing with the venue provider.
• An annual review

You would attend and contribute to management team meetings every six weeks. The role is very flexible, and the time required varies every week. There is also the opportunity to get involved in other tasks.
