We’re looking for a friendly, creative volunteer to support our Chief Executive with social media, content design, and helping to promote Random Café online.
We’re looking for a friendly, creative volunteer to support our Chief Executive with social media, content design, and helping to promote Random Café online. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating engaging posts, sharing stories, and connecting with the local community.
You’ll help raise awareness of our waste‑food shop and community café, encouraging more people in Watford to discover what we do and join us in reducing food waste. Your creativity will help us reach new audiences, celebrate our volunteers, highlight our events, and share the positive impact Random Café has in the community.
As part of the team, you’ll design and create content for our social media channels, keep followers updated with news and activities, and help us communicate in a warm, welcoming way. If you enjoy being creative, love community projects, and want to make a real difference, we’d be delighted to have you join us.

Random Café runs a community café in Watford, open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays between 10 am and 3 pm. The café serves hot and cold drinks and a selection of sweet and savoury items which have either been saved from supermarkets or grown from our community gardens.
In addition, we have a food waste shop that sells food we cannot use in the café back to the local community on a PAYF basis. This allows us to save as much food as possible from being wasted meaning that since 2017, we have saved over 120 tonnes of food from going to landfill. The Shop is open from 11 am until 2 pm.
We need your help to allow us to continue to support our local community, to continue to reduce the amount that goes to landfill and to keep managing our community gardens so that we can grow as much food for the café as possible.
