Summary

You will support the Volunteer coordinator with the recruitment, placement, training and retention of volunteers.

Detailed description

As the assistant to our volunteer coordinator, you will help us attract, support and train our growing band of volunteers. Tasks include:


  • Promote volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment strategies and campaigns.
  • Process application forms and interview volunteers to ensure they are appropriately matched and trained for a position.
  • Carry out pre-volunteering checks, including references and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where appropriate.
  • Organise rotas and provide inductions and training, as well as debrief interviews for departing volunteers.
  • Ensure there is appropriate support and training for volunteers.
  • Celebrate volunteering by nominating volunteers for awards and organise celebration events.
  • Offer advice and information new volunteering enquiries.
  • Attend committees and meetings.
