Assistant Cook

At Hampson Park Community Centre we currently run a lunch club on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and it is proving to be a big success.

This lunch club is not for profit and we cannot afford to hire another cook / cook assistant, as we are currently running at a slight loss already. We offer this service to the local community and we have some members who have been referred to us from Citizens Advice etc with food vouchers. We can have up to 25 people attend for one sitting. This lunch club really is a social hub for a lot of it's members and can be the only social outings they have throughout the week. We would love to keep this service running for as long as possible!

Our Cook has two volunteers already, one on a Thursday and one on a Friday. However, we do not currently have a volunteer for a Tuesday lunch club and we have no extra cover when one of our current volunteers are away or unwell.

Our cook starts at about 10AM and finishes at about 2PM. The lunch is laid out and served at 12.30PM. After lunch and dessert is served, the customers also have a cup of tea / coffee or squash as part of their sit down. Most of the attendees leave about 1.30PM. It would be very beneficial for our cook to have an extra set of hands in the kitchen to help prep the food, wash up and set up the tables for the customers and handing out the teas and coffees. They would not be needed until approx. 11 / 11.30 and then would be appreciated to stay on until most of the washing is done by 1.45 / 2PM.
