Stallholder Volunteers – Oaklands College Event

Do you love animals, and would you like to help pet owners struggling financially, to keep their pets well-fed and looked after? We are a pet foodbank and attend community events to raise awareness, and collect donations to support pets in need in the St Albans and Watford areas.

We need a minimum of 2 volunteers who can set-up and run a stall at Oakfest 2024 at Oaklands College, St Albans on Saturday 29^th June 2024.

You will need to be a driver with your own vehicle. We need you to collect equipment from us on Friday 28^th June. Then on Saturday 29^th June, transport it to the event, set-up and run the stall between 10am and 4pm. Volunteers will also be responsible for taking down and returning the equipment to us after the event.

Equipment to transport will include a gazebo and a 6ft folding table, tombola prizes etc, so the volunteer’s vehicle needs to be large enough to accommodate that.

Volunteers will be responsible for spreading awareness about Pets In Need CIC, greeting the public, and raising funds by encouraging people to take part in the tombola, children’s lucky dip or dogs lucky dip. Volunteers will need to operate the Sum-Up Machine for card transactions, we would prefer card payments and avoid cash handling.

We will provide any necessary training for using the equipment.

Please note, that some manual handling is involved in this volunteer role, including transporting and erecting a small gazebo and folding table. It would suit a couple or a small group of volunteers. Pets in Need staff will be attending another event on the same day, but will be able to offer support and guidance via telephone on the day.
