Volunteers are needed to set up and run monthly support group meetings for families effected by PSP & CBD, providing a space for people to share experiences.

Our local groups are at the heart of PSPA’s work in communities, offering vital support to people living with PSP & CBD, as well as their families and carers. These groups provide a welcoming, inclusive space where people can connect and meet others in a similar situation. They also provide trusted information and help raise awareness of both conditions.

Our group coordinators provide a space for people living with PSP & CBD and their families, to meet and develop friendships by organising regular meetings in their local area. As Lincolnshire is vast, we are hoping to establish the group in central Lincolnshire if possible. With the help of PSPA, you will source and book a venue, provide a warm welcome, facilitate the meeting and deal with any relevant paperwork. Meetings are normally 1.5 to 2 hours, so expect to commit around 5 hours a month including travelling, any prep time and setting up.

Key tasks:

    • Source a suitable venue bearing in mind access requirements.
    • Buy and organise refreshments.
    • Act as host, welcoming members and facilitating conversation and group discussion.
    • Plan any group activities/speakers. PSPA can help with speakers.
    • Ensure attendance sheets and registration forms for new members are completed and sent to PSPA.
    • Plan any group activities/speakers. PSPA can help with speakers.

We provide a comprehensive welcome package with the resources and information you need to cover all aspects of the role.
