Summary

Join our Christmas Gift Wrapping team on the 9th or 17th December and help raise vital funds to protect children in Hertfordshire.

Detailed description

We're looking for Gift wrappers!

As part of Jackson Square's Community Space 24 day Christmas countdown, we will be offering our gift wrapping skills in return for donations to the NSPCC, and we need all hands on deck! Based in what was the trolley bay in Jackson Square, we will seek out people that are shopping for Christmas gifts, and offer to wrap those gifts for them in return for donations. If you can help, we would love to have you!

We have the space from 11am-4pm so it would be great to have a number of volunteers who could do a few hours each. Commit as much or little time as you have available, we'd be grateful for your time and helping hands.

  • Want to help us but only have your lunch break available? We'd love to have you!
  • Love to help us but only have an hour whilst your child is at pre-school? We'd love you to join us!
  • Happy to get involved but not the best at wrapping? That's ok, you can take donations and invite shoppers to trust us with their gifts!
  • Have a team of staff who have a volunteering day free? We would be delighted to have you!

What you'll do

  • Come along to Community Space, Jackson Square, Bishops Stortford
  • Join us on our Gift wrapping station
  • Wear an NSPCC tshirt to help raise awareness of our charities' presence in the town
  • Help wrap presents
  • Take donations (cash or card machine)
  • Invite Stortford shoppers to leave their gifts in our trusted hands and return to find them wrapped beautifully, ready for Christmas!
  • Raise vital funds for children in Hertfordshire
  • Help the NSPCC keep more children safe from abuse and neglect
  • Have fun!

Who's right for the role?

While we think this role is suitable for a whole range of people, we are particularly looking for those with the following qualities and experiences.

  • Finders of sellotape ends
  • Cutters of wrapping paper
  • Folders of neat lines
  • Bow sticker-on-ers
  • Passionate about helping young people and children
  • Enthusiastic and personable
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Able to think on your feet
  • You work well within a team
  • Great communication and social skills

Interested in getting involved? Volunteer today and join our fight for every childhood.

About NSPCC- Community Fundraising

The NSPCC is here for children and families, night and day. As a Community Fundraising manager, it is my responsibility to support local fundraisers with events. I am keen to establish a community in Bishops Stortford and have created a series of events to see out the year.
