Caring and compassionate people needed who love music, singing and connecting with others to support weekly sessions around Hertfordshire

This role is a very important part of what makes Music24 successful. We need open-minded and caring people to support the main thread of work in our sessions that provide therapeutic music-making opportunities to people living with dementia, learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Support Workers need to be good communicators and have a a sense of humour.

A Session Support Worker will be expected to: assist facilitators in setting up and setting down, welcome participants to the sessions and help them get seated and settled, assist people with tea and coffee (if applicable), join in and encourage participants to remain engaged in the musical activity, prompt and assist participants where needed, be happy, enthused and vibrant in order to create a positive environment for the participants, and most of all – you should be able to listen… Our clients often need someone to talk to, so the ability to listen well and empathise is essential.

Our morning or afternoon sessions in Hertfordshire take place in various locations including Stevenage, Welwyn, Watford, Broxbourne and Cheshunt and we welcome volunteers at any of these.

Please get in touch via our website if you would like to find out more about this opportunity and to complete the Volunteer Application Form. We can't wait to hear from you!
