We have two volunteer lead branches of MND Association in Herts. This includes our North and East Herts Branch and our South Herts Branch.
Both branches are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to help us raise money and awareness within their local communities. There are a whole lot of ways you can do this! This may include:
- Think creatively and organise a variety of fundraising activities or events on behalf of the Branch
- Encourage local organisations and companies to fundraise on behalf of the Association
- Apply for local trust or funding opportunities
- Research opportunities and follow these through, to place collection tins at various locations and ensure they are regularly collected and exchanged.
Or you, or a group of you, may just want to do your own fundraising activity for the local branch. In order for funds to go to the local branch, it is important you inform anyone sponsoring you and add a comment to any just giving page that the money raised will be for the North and East Herts Branch or South Herts Branch.
You don’t need personal experience of MND but this role will suit someone with good communication skills talking to members of the public and the desire to help.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and get involved with your local community. You will gain experience of fundraising along with the opportunity to increase your knowledge of MND to raise awareness confidently.
This role is flexible and you can give as time much as you want and are able to give.

About us
MND is a fatal, rapidly progressive disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. It attacks the nerves that control movement so muscles refuse to work. It can leave people locked in a failing body, unable to move, talk and eventually breath. It kills a third of people within a year and more than half within two years of diagnosis, and it has no cure.
The MND Association was founded in 1979. Our mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers. We also fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND.
